The Bible Is Able

It is able to become part of you and to save your soul.

James 1:21: Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.

It is able to accomplish God*s will.

Isaiah 55:11: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

It is alive, powerful and a mind-reader.

Hebrews 4:12: For the word of God is quick, (alive) and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

It is a guide.

Psalms 119:105: Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

It is nourishment.

1 Peter 2:2: As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:

It is profitable.

2 Timothy 3:16: All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

It gives faith and peace.

Romans 10:17: So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

James McGranahan in his Hymn I Know Whom I Have Believed:

I know not how this saving faith to me He did impart, nor how believing in His Word wrought peace within my heart.

It is eternal.

Psalms 119:89: For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.
